Our 2010 Resolution ...

01.06.10

It's the new year. 2010. January. The time when people the world over vow to make changes in their lives: get healthy, lose weight, quit smoking, be a better person. All kinds of promises, high expectations, new game plans.

Most companies are being asked right now – what about 2010? What are your expectations? What's your outlook? What's your resolution?

And our resolution is actually quite simple: we resolve to do exactly what we did in 2009.
And 2008.
And 2007.
And ... you get the idea.

Reindeer was founded on the belief that the customer should come first. It's our daily mantra: focus on the customer; keep the customer happy and the rest will fall into place. Tim Donnar believed that when he started the company in 1997. And somehow, unbelievably, he and Ritchie and Brad have found 36 other people who absolutely believe it to be true and who are committed to achieving "real. personal. service."

I know – you're reading this thinking "wow, chick, quit drinking the happy juice!" And I get it – I've worked for previous employers where management stood up in front of the assembly and said "rah, rah, rah" and we all snickered from the back row, because we knew reality to be so very different than the tale they were telling. There was no team and there were only placeholder cheerleaders. Nothing to truly get excited about and no personal investment at all.

It's simply not that way here. When our management stands up and says "go, team" – we don't snicker. We sit up straighter and we take notes and we applaud. We brainstorm and we praise and we look ahead and we innovate. We take pride in each and every day, every move and every customer. And we resolve to keep that commitment and that focus. It's the best formula for success. And, seemingly, the simplest.

2010 is going to be an unpredictable, uncertain, unsteady, roller-coaster-ride of a year. Who knows what the market will do. Who knows what our government will do. For some, it may be incredibly difficult to make a resolution today when they have no clear picture, no guarantee of what tomorrow will bring.

But not for us. In 2010, we resolve to do it all absolutely the same.

Cheers to 2010. May we change absolutely nothing for you.
