Hats off to Operations Specialist, Kyle Brubaker. Kyle single-handedly came up with the idea to raise money for a local Avon family. Their young son, Evan, had been battling leukemia for two years – creating not just an emotional crisis, but a financial one as well. Unfortunately, Evan passed away prior to the event, but Kyle forged ahead with the plans and on Saturday, September 11, held the inaugural "Evan's Ride" ... 15 motorcycle riders gathered to ride an honorary lap around the city and then many family friends, community residents, and Reindeer staff gathered for a dinner, silent auction, raffle and celebration. Final numbers aren't in yet, but it's already known that Kyle brought a smile to the family's heart.
Kudos to Kyle for "getting it" ... we don't have to be personally impacted by crisis to be motivated to get involved in our community. Anyone can lend a "hand up" – you just have make the effort. We're proud of you, Kyle!
