Will the real Cindy please stand up!

I had an interesting experience this week ... I've worked at Reindeer for a long time ... and I feel like I pretty much know everyone – who they are, where they came from, what they enjoy ... but this week I learned something new about a teammate ... the reason behind a nickname, which made me laugh and then it also made me wonder ... what else am I missing? The fun is in the finding ... so I took a poll and found some very interesting tidbits about our Reindeer team:
Kurt – I was the only member of my track team in high school to go to state ... I participated in 4 events and made enough points by myself for my school to place 10th in the state.
Jessica – I can sign the alphabet (as in sign language)
Lauren – I think I am an amazing singer.
Julie – I can speak German – I used to be fluent.
Jennifer – I had a pet raccoon growing up. Actually, I had several but my favorite was named Grumpy – she loved to eat Oreo cookies. My dad brought her to Show & Tell when I was in kindergarten. Yep – I am a closet redneck
Bob – I played The Grand Prize Game on the TV Show "Bozo Circus" when I was 9.
Robin – I had surgery on my left eye when I was 12 years old, because I was a tomboy and played in grass fields a lot – I got a piece of bush stuck in my eye.
Katie – I am obsessed with air fresheners, plug-ins, and candles ... always have them in my house in every room.
Connie – I have lived in 5 states during my lifetime.
Brad – I have a terrible time remembering people's names until I meet them several times.
Ryan – I have a track and field record at Ball State University. Unfortunately and fortunately, they got rid of their men's track program and all online statistics, so there's no way to prove this, but at least the record will never be broken! I'm also a diehard "Young & the Restless" fan.
Susan – I swam competitively from age 6 thru high school. I went to the IHSAA State Competition my sophomore year.
Nikki – I lived in Australia for about 9 months before moving to the US permanently in 2002 ... IT WAS FUN!
Cathy - When I was a freshman in college, I dated a boy who was in the same fraternity at the same time as a Heisman Trophy winner. The boy I dated was a freshman and the Heisman winner was a senior, but I was at the same parties with him.
Kameron – I farm twice a year, so I'm a farm boy!
Nathan - I got 1st and 3rd place in my eighth grade talent show for singing a Backstreet Boys song while dancing with chairs with a group of my friends and for rapping Ice Ice Baby!!! I had back up dancers and everything for the rap. There is a video of it somewhere out there.
Tim – I am afraid of birds of any type.
Alan – I was born in Dublin, Ireland.
Schoan - As a kid I was a model for a local magazine shoot. It was a one shot deal. I did not enjoy acting like a family with strangers. My shots ended up on the cutting room floor so there is no evidence of the event. But I did get paid. That was sweet.
John - I look at myself as a Rastafarian, I love reggae music, and the culture.
Michelle - I have had 15 different addresses throughout my life.
Sidney - I like to write poetry and have been published twice.
Courtney – I make children's clothes that I sell on etsy.com ... I am fascinated with art history ... I love cheap champagne and creative projects.
Kyle – A few years ago, I was sitting in a friend's truck while they were inside a White Castle getting food ... when 3 fights broke out inside and someone opened fire ...the girl that was firing the gun continued to all the way to her car that was parked next to my door ... the cops came and everything!
Melissa M – When I was 11 I was in a motorcycle accident and broke my left femur bone in half. As you can imagine it left quite the scar, at that time I was mortified by the fact that I was going have a huge scar on my leg for the rest of my life. Turns out I'm really not that upset about it anymore, as it serves as the perfect story to tell people that I was viciously attacked by a shark, real attention getter and pretty good pick up line.
Kristina - I worked at Glamour Shots as a Make- up Artist & Hair Stylist for about 3 months. To this day I never list it on my resume because I applied for a Receptionist Position and they threw me in one day! I can't believe some of the make-up applications I did in the beginning.
Patti – I was a Hoosier Scholar and a Girl Scout member and then troop leader.
Nancy – I have lived in 4 states, 3 countries and I am fluent in 2 languages. I have crossed the English Channel on a Catamaran and I have sipped tea on the Mediterranean!
Liz - Some of my extended family is Amish.
It's always fun to learn something new about someone ... and it doesn't matter if you known them 5 months or 5 years – there will always be something new and fascinating to uncover. Thanks, Coco Chanel, for reminding me that when we get in a rut – all we need is a little "fresh" perspective to liven up the spirits and change the whole look of the day!
